October 11, 1969 - Gruga Halle, Essen, West Germany

The guy I got this recording from listed it as being performed on November 10, 1969, in Essen, West Germany. If the location of this recording is correct, and if Vernon Fitch's book is correct, then the correct date for this recording is October 11, 1969. One thing is certain, this is a recording of an early Pink Floyd concert. The version of Interstallar Overdrive makes this one worth acquiring. It is a very cool arrangement, unlike any other that I've heard, however, the song gets cut off about 6 minutes into it. Even with this tragic flaw I still think it is worth hearing and worth having.

Do you know of this show? An announcer is heard introducing the Pink Floyd briefly. You hear some tuning noise, then Roger says "As our equipment was so late arriving, you'll have to bare with us while we tune up." A beer bottle can be heard getting kicked across the floor. The source tape is heard stopping and starting. Then Roger says, "This is a song called Astronomy Domine." The band starts playing.

Please let me know if you have any info about this recording. I hope there is more than 26 minutes of this show on tape somewhere. Maybe you can help me find the rest of it. The set list is as follows:

1. Astronomy Domine
2. Green Is The Colour
3. Careful With That Axe, Eugene
4. Interstellar Overdrive
